CBD Edibles

Rather than telling you what types of CBD edibles are out there, it would almost be simpler to tell you what hasn’t been created yet – because the options are virtually endless! Thanks to the innovators leading the industry, CBD edibles come in an impressive variety of product types, including:

• CBD gummies
• CBD hard candies (lollipops, lozenges, etc.)
• CBD chocolates
• CBD baked goods
• CBD-infused coffee and tea
• CBD-infused dried fruit
• CBD chewing gum
• CBD drinks (juices, energy drinks, water, and even alcoholic beverages)

In addition to product types, you’ll generally find two main categories of CBD edibles:

• Balanced THC/CBD edibles: These cannabis edibles contain a balanced ratio of CBD and THC, delivering a traditional marijuana experience in a convenient and delicious form.
• CBD-dominant (or CBD-only) edibles: For individuals that prefer a non-intoxicating option, these edibles contain little to no THC. Depending on the product, it may be made with CBD extracted from marijuana or hemp.

There are many reasons that CBD-infused edibles have become so popular, largely because they offer useful advantages that many consumers appreciate. 

Because they are an edible form of CBD, these products are incredibly convenient for anytime enjoyment. So, whether you prefer a cup of CBD coffee to start your day, pre-workout CBD-infused water, or a couple of CBD gummies before bed, edibles are one of the easiest options possible. CBD edibles are also extremely discreet, so you can make privacy a priority if you so choose. Finally, edibles come in a broad range of concentration levels, flavors, and forms, making them fantastically versatile. Beginners and seasoned consumers alike can find products that align with their preferences with ease.

In terms of medical benefits, CBD researchers are currently hard at work to complete a myriad of studies showing exactly how CBD can be used to support various needs and goals. However, our customers have reported overwhelmingly positive experiences using CBD for pain, inflammation, nausea, stress, insomnia, and more. 

At present, there are several completed studies that show CBD’s present (and future) potential, including for chronic pain, arthritis, anxiety, and even addiction. In fact, the FDA recently approved the first-ever CBD-based medication, a pharmaceutical called Epidiolex for childhood epilepsy conditions.

Like all CBD products, edibles contain one of the three basic types of CBD:

• Full-spectrum CBD edibles are made with CBD extracts that contain the full range of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other compounds within the plant. For some consumers, being able to have access to all of these compounds is a major plus.
• Broad-spectrum CBD edibles contain a broad range of cannabinoids and other compounds, but they do not contain THC.
• CBD isolate edibles are made using a pure, isolated form of CBD. CBD isolate contains no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or compounds, only CBD. Usually, these edibles are sourced from hemp rather than cannabis.

When it comes to finding the best CBD dosage, there’s no “perfect amount” – it’s completely personal. However, edibles do make it easier to know where to start, because most are labeled with a suggested serving size that corresponds with the dosage. Plus, because the amount of CBD in each serving is precise and consistent, you know exactly how much you’re consuming without needing to measure anything out.

If you’re new to CBD edibles, we recommend starting with a small serving/dosage. From there, slowly work your way up until you achieve your ideal experience.

If you already know your ideal dosage amount, then all you’ll need to do is shop accordingly. For example, if you prefer 20mg of CBD for a six-hour period, a 20mg gummy (or two 10mg gummies) would be a great match.

There’s a lot of information contained on the labels for CBD edibles, but understanding it all doesn’t have to be complicated. Every product will be slightly different, but the label will usually include the following details:

• Brand and product type (for example, sour gummy worms)
• THC/CBD content per serving (for example, 250mg)
• Flavor (green apple, strawberry, cherry – the list goes on and on!)
• Suggested serving size
• Other ingredients

Some product labels will also reference the type of experience the specific edible is formulated for. For example, Chronic Candy lollipops are labeled with descriptors such as “Creativity” and “Energetic” to make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
